Sustainable Houston is a membership-based network of
locally-based,
independent businesses, farmers, and community organizations.
We work to build a strong local economy and strengthen the Houston
business community by connecting these companies to each other and to
area consumers. Our mission is to build the Houston economy in a
socially and economically just and environmentally sustainable manner.
We urge area residents to buy local whenever possible to ensure the
economic viability of the Greater Houston area.
Houston is a great place to live and a great place to do business. We
intend to remind all of our residents about the wonderful farmers,
artisans, restaurateurs, retailers, and others who make Houston a
one-of-a-kind city. We are Sustainable Houston (SH) and we are excited
about local and independent businesses.
